It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas with a baby is so fun. You get to relive your childhood, having all the fun of picking out the best baby toys and gifts for your little one.
OMGosh, did you receive Amazon’s Holiday shopping guide in the mail, yet?! I thought mailed catalogs went out of style after Sears’ GIANT paperweight stopped hitting our mailboxes. So, when I got the Amazon guide in the mail, it was a pleasant surprise.
Let’s face it—we could all use a guide because Amazon shopping gets so crazy, it’s hard to know the best option, especially for baby. One product has what looks like almost five stars with great reviews, but then there’s that one BAD review and you start down a doubt spiral, wondering if it’s the right choice. Then the other product you’re comparing has far less reviews…so which baby gift do you choose?
While the Amazon holiday catalog was fantastic, I was SUPER disappointed it didn’t have a baby toy section! (Seriously guys, whuuuut?!) So, I’m here to remedy this. Below, you will find the TOP “Amazon Best Sellers” in your very own Amazon best baby toys shopping guide. You may even want to add a few of these items to your Amazon wish list in case friends and family are looking for baby toy ideas.
Using this easy holiday shopping guide to find the best baby toys and gifts will eliminate all the painstaking guessing and the best part? You get all your Christmas shopping done early! No more stress for you! Kickback with a peppermint latte, relax, and actually enjoy the holidays and the magic under the tree.
The 20 Best Baby Toys for Christmas According to Amazon
5 Stars, 4432 ratings
These are an actual classic. There’s something every single baby loves about stacking colorful cups. These are easy to grip, fun to stack. and make that oh-so-satisfying noise when baby hits them together. The cups are perfect for bath time and baby will love pouring water out of these bright cups. There’s a very good reason why these show a five-star rating. They’re the quintessential baby toy. These are the top toy on our baby’s Christmas list!
5 Stars, 358 ratings
Another classic toy with a perfect rating. These little guys have the cutest bear and penguin faces. They bob in the tub and are the ideal size for little hands. While these are stupidly simple toys, all babies love “bobble” toys, and these are no exception. The winter animals are festive for holiday time too!

It literally doesn’t get any cuter than a peek-a-boo book with forest animals. Each page features adorable illustrations with rhymes, interactive peek-a-boo flaps, and crinkle noises. With baby books, it’s hard to know what will click with your little one, but with a perfect rating, this book is a sure hit. Both our littles LOVED crinkle books around 5 months of age. With this series, there’s also a “Fun with Shapes” version (with a stroller clip), and both are very popular.
5 stars, 1363 ratings
These bath bubbles are very popular. A few people expressed concern that water got trapped inside the bubbles, and the toys are made of very hard plastic. Honestly, though, the reviews were quite good with 83% giving them 5 stars. The faces of the little penguin and turtle are so cute, and they’re great for bath time (or floor time) entertainment. The whirly toys rattle and spin to keep baby’s attention.
5 Stars, 4383 ratings
These teething keys are yet another classic baby toy, but with an update. When you put these teethers in the fridge, the PurICE technology offers a cooling sensation to soothe gums during painful teething. The keys are BPA free and come in fun colors. The shape is easy-to-grip. There are warnings in the reviews that these are not dishwasher safe, so it’s something to keep in mind before you purchase. We purchased these recently for our youngest as she was teething (around eight months). She chewed the heck out of them after we put them in the freezer. If only they stayed cold forever! But, I still would highly recommend it.

This multi-textured rattle is a cute little bug. It’s soft and made for very young children. Babies love to grip, especially when they’re discovering, “Woah, I have hands,” so a rattle is perfect for that time. The bold colors are easy for babies to follow and find, and the ratings are excellent. Rattles make the best baby toys and this one is adorable.

With the excitement around the release of Disney+, it seems everyone is gripped with Disney fever (as if we weren’t already). These cute bath toys come in a variety of Disney Characters—Finding Nemo, The Little Mermaid, Mickey Mouse, Toy Story, and more. Each one squirts water and is perfect for little hands to hold. They’re soft and easy for bath time. It’s important to note, you should let these drain after use (like all water toys, they become moldy if they don’t dry out).
5 stars, 1934 ratings
For some weird reason, I find these RaZ-Berry teethers hilarious. I love how they look like raspberries (they also come in grapes, pink, and blue). They’re a lovely teether with texture to help soothe baby’s mouth. You can also pop these guys in the freezer or fridge to cool. These are made of 100% medical grade silicone and are BPA free.
5 stars, 8457 ratings
These baby toothbrushes/teethers come in a variety of fun shapes—banana, corn cob, dragon, unicorn, octopus, and more. Made of 100% medical grade silicone, they’re pliable and soft, easy for baby to grip and fun for them to chew. As you know, infants are big fans of putting EVERYTHING in their mouth, so toys made for chewing are perfect. And this is one of our top favorite toys! It’s incredibly sturdy and both our babies chewed the heck out of it (and it still looks brand new – which is crazy).
5 stars, 10,903 ratings
This musical toy has over 10,000 ratings and is the number one bestseller in Amazon musical toys. With a 4.5 star rating, you can’t go wrong with this one. This is one of our number ONE top toys. Both of our babies love it! Our first little carried this around with her wherever she went. If you’re interested in introducing your baby to music, this is a fantastic way to do it!

Fisher-Price is a trusted name in the best baby toys for a good reason. They’ve been in the baby biz for years, and they really know what they’re doing when it comes to manufacturing sturdy toys babies love. These cute rattles come in a variety of colors. They feature colorful beads with rattle sounds to help build those super crucial gross motor skills. We purchased these early on with our first little and she LOVED them. Babies can hold and shake a rattle from 4 – 8 months and ours were obsessed. I actually featured these Fisher-Price Rattle ‘n Rock Maracas in my Top 12 Best Baby Toys For Baby’s First Year list!
12. Boon Building Bath Pipes Toy Set of 5
4 stars, 1741 ratings
These bath pipes are a top seller with a four-star rating. After reading the reviews, it seems these run into the same issue as many bath toys—you must completely dry them regularly. One Amazon reviewer recommends soaking tub toys in vinegar from time-to-time to prevent mold and mildew, which I think sounds like a brilliant idea. These tubes stick to the side of the tub and allow kids to pour water through to watch it exit. Perfect for bath time fun for your budding engineer! I’ve actually added this one to our Black Friday shopping list this year.

Okay, how freakin’ cute is this Fisher-Price On-the-Go Breakfast set? It comes with a little coffee cup teether, donut rattle, and adorable crinkle newspaper. This action gives baby plenty of sensory play and helps them develop their eye-hand fine motor skills. If you love the food theme, Fisher-Price also makes a darling Rice ‘n Roll Sushi set and a Taco Tuesday gift set! (All three are totally adorable)! Play food has been a HUGE hit in our house.
5 stars, 1443 ratings
This Munchkin bath time fishin’ toy is voted one of the best baby toys according to Amazon. With a magnetic fishing rod and cute little floater characters, it’s no wonder why people love it. The characters are air-tight (no worries about mildew – which is SO hard to find with bath toys!), plus they have cute little faces and are the right size for babies to grip. These are ideal for slightly older babies—around 24 months and up. Our oldest is in LOVE with fishing sets and has been since before she was two years old.

The different textures and materials in this bumpy ball really engage babies and hold their interest. These balls make rattling noises and the bright colors and high-contrast patterns aid in development. Bragging rights on this ball—it won the Oppenheim Toy Platinum Award. AND it won our littlest one’s heart. She’s loved this thing since day one!

Tea sets are always a popular gift for little girls. We got one for our oldest on her second birthday. Countless hours have been spent playing tea with stuffed animals! The cups in this tea set feature a drainage hole, which some parents didn’t like (but the waterfall action is excellent for bath time). This tea set is darling in pink and purple with fancy cupcakes. The teapot is sturdy and holds up to rough play in the tub (which is super nice!).

The Fisher-Price circus celebration rocker is a super sweet gift for baby. It’s built to hold up to 40 pounds, with two reclining positions and calming vibrations. There’s a toy bar with grabbable dangling toys. The motion and sound are battery operated. One note says while some babies love the vibration and sound, others aren’t big fans (but like all moms, you know your kid best). It’s also important never to leave your baby unattended in any rocker or chair. When my first was a newborn, the only way I had time to shower was to put her in a bouncer (I left the shower curtain open so I could see her). She loved it and man, so did I!

We have this baby rest sound machine and it’s amazing! While it might not seem as fun as the other best baby toys on the list, it’s practical and will help your little one adjust to a sleep schedule. For newborns, Rest offers soft light and white noise. As your child gets older, set up a “time-to-rise” to help your toddler know when it’s time to get up and start the day. This Hatch light is THE reason our little one stays in bed and doesn’t get up till 7 am! It’s been a serious game-changer.
I highly recommend this one and mention it in a couple of posts!:

Y’all may already know, I’m a BIG fan of the Boppy pillow. This newborn lounger is also great. It gives your newborn a little nest to sit in when you need a moment of “hands-free” time. All of the Boppy products are TOTALLY fabulous. This one received the mom’s choice award for excellence and has a five-star rating. Plus, it’s machine washable (YAS!) and easy to care for. Seriously—I know a “lounger” isn’t exactly a toy, but this is still a must-have under your Christmas tree.

Baby Einstein does it again with this 4-in-1 tunes music and language play mat. This playmat offers excellent stimulation for tummy time. It’s packable, entertaining for baby, and offers phrases in THREE languages (for your tiny smarty-pants). Most reviewers are totally in love with this product. If you’re looking for a great playmat, this is an excellent option. I highly recommend a playmat for babies! It’s one of the best toys we purchased.
Christmas shopping for littles can be challenging (you always want to buy a SOLID toy that will be loved instead of one that collets dust, wastes space and money!). Thank you, Amazon for letting us know the TOP 20 best selling toys this year! If you’re looking for even more ideas, check out my post on the Best Baby Toys for Babies Under One Year.
